Studio Brief 3: Peer Development - Catalogue

After we had chosen the final logotype, we were then confident in designing the rest of the content required for the exhibition. We had assigned and delegated between ourselves the different roles, below are the developed designs for the catalogue.

The idea behind the catalogue was to combine and bring all the elements of our exhibition branding together. The front cover and layout of the catalogue were to be minimalistic and simple, to give the artwork focus and attention. There were feature pages that would have shown sections of people's prints in full spread, to bring some colour and excitement to the catalogue. The examples of people's prints throughout the catalogue would have been halftoned, to bring cohesiveness between the catalogue and all other branding materials. A sheet of acetate with a halftone pattern was also to be included, this was so that the public could use the acetate to move over the halftoned images, which would create a sense of movement and optical illusion; this also links to the social media projector installation. Black dots, which are dominantly present in wayfinding and the map, would also be included inside the catalogue, as a form of memorabilia for the public, as well as to allow them to use the dots to place one on the map.
